Refresh with Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra

Let go of life’s stressors in this restorative yoga class. We begin with some relaxing breathing practices and then settle into easeful poses which are held for 3 - 5 minutes. The class concludes with Yoga Nidra*, one of the deepest possible states of relaxation. Discover how going within to experience the joy of feeling calm and rested transcends into your daily life and relationships.

*Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep as it is commonly known, is an immensely powerful meditation technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. While the practitioner rests comfortably, this systematic meditation takes you through the pancha maya kosha (five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of wholeness. Kundalini Yoga ONGOING Beginners Series

This ongoing class further explores the what and how of Kundalini Yoga in an accessible way for beginners and long time practitioners alike. Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is a complete system-using asana, breath, mantra, and mudra to amplify higher states of consciousness, and provides a total overhaul for the entire 10 body system in a very short amount of time! This amazing practice strengthens the nervous system, balances the endocrine system, and stimulates the Kundalini energy coiled at the base of the spine, awakening your own heightened consciousness and giving you a greater experience of joy and your own vital energy! All of the postures in Kundalini Yoga are safe and can be modified for the ability of all individuals—they are all very simple and can even be practiced in a chair! Deep Yoga Practice

Gentle stretching and movement to heal your body and self. Deep Yoga is a practice in nourishment - integrating yoga, somatics, principles of Body-Mind Centering®, qigong, and subtle movement. The foundation is a focus on sensation, breath, release to the support of the earth, and natural alignment. We will nourish all of the tissues and systems of the body with an eternal, spacious consciousness. As we explore postures and alignment, we will enter our own ‘healing hut’. Embodied philosophy and paradigm shifting is part of our practice.

This class is geared towards both the beginner and advanced yogi - for anyone 16-100 years old. No experience necessary. Just come with an open mind and heart.

Kundalini Yoga Pranayam & Meditation

WITH AMRIT SADHANA (VICKIE HEALY) WEDNESDAY @ 7:15 PM • 60 MINUTES $13 PER CLASS

Regulate the nervous system and cultivate a meditative mind with Kundalini pranayam (breath techniques) and meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan. We will develop breath awareness, recognizing the breath as both the gross physical breath and as the subtle life force called prana. We’ll learn and practice various breath techniques including yogic breath (long deep breathing), breath suspension, breath of fire, alternate nostril breathing, segmented breaths and more. We practice many types of meditations in Kundalini Yoga. Meditations include silent awareness, mudras (hand positions) and pranayams with or without mantra (rhythmical repetition of specific sounds). Classes will include warm-ups to prepare for sitting in a comfortable seated position, pranayam, meditation and deep relaxation. Home practice will be encouraged. Yogi Bhajan said, “The main problem in the world is stress. It is not going to decrease - it is going to increase. If through pranayama the shock can be harnessed, the entire stress and disease can be reduced.”

Vinyasa Yoga Class

Experience the joy of an embodied practice of flowing, dynamic yoga. Coordinating breath with movement through a sequence of yoga postures, participants explore the body-mind connection and unity of this connection with the world around them. The development of ‘core’ strength and ‘balance’ found with continued practice may foster equanimity– the ability to meet life where you with a sense of ease. An opening meditation and pranayama (breath) practice contributes to the wholeness of this experience.

In this moderate to vigorus class, you will explore the principles of Embodyoga to explore our movement through finding both the deep inner support in the core, and relating to and receiving from, Earth. We use breath, and Embodyoga techniques in order to cultivate deep awareness of self and the way we relate to and receive from our environment, and to find the comfort and ease in our movements and poses.
